Blogmas Day 2| December TBR: Will My Library Holds Ever Come In?

Hello again honeybees! I’m very excited to be participating in Blogmas and to be in December. 2022 was a solid year for me and I grew so much.

I have no idea what I want to read (besides my library holds that have been “in process” for weeks when I’m the first one in line) so this is going to be a very soft guide of the few books I’d like to get to before the end of the year, and ones I think I’ll reach for.

To Be Read

Kiss Her Once For Me by Allison Cochran*

*Library hold. But I’m sooo excited to read this. I haven’t gathered my lists yet, but I’m pretty sure The Charm Offensive is on my Top Ten Favorite Reads of the year. A sapphic holiday romance from this author?? Yes please.

A Merry Little Meet Cute by Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone*

*Library hold. I didn’t like Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy so I never had interest in this when I saw it but then I read the synopsis and it was an instant need. A romcom centering a p*rn star might be a slippery slope but this looks like a hilarious and sexy take on the usual holiday romance.

I will not be reviewing this book until Harper Collins union workers receive a contract and fair wages. I support the strike and hope you, too, will not cross the picket line and refrain from reviewing and publicizing HC stories.

The Christmas Spirit by Debbie Macomber

Going into another Debbie Macomber book. It’s been a few years since my last, but I remember cringing last time. She’s published so many Christmas books that’s it’s hard to avoid her, and I think my tastes may have changed. Maybe the Hallmark vibes might suit me in my slightly more mature age.

A Witch For Mr. Holiday by Deanna Chase

I have this on kindle unlimited and I might read this while waiting for my library holds to come through. It doesn’t sound too troupe-y or cringe like most holiday novels, so I’m excited for that.

VAMPS: Fresh Blood by Nicole Arend

My favorite genre is paranormal romance, not that you can tell because I rarely read it anymore. I went looking for a book to read in that category on netgalley and came across this vampire academy story (not Vampire Academy, the series). It publishes right at the beginning of the year: January 3rd, 2023.

That’s going to be it for my written TBR. I have finals and all the holiday responsibilities, so I’m going to let my mood take over the rest. Hopefully I can read more than this and really dig into my physical TBR before the start of 2023.

What’s on your December TBR? Have you read any of these yet? What are your holiday traditions this time of year?

Thank you for reading! Find me on Twitter, Instagram, and Goodreads for more bookish content and chats. See you soon!

I feel your frustration about library books still being processed. I’m currently waiting for 9 books and am 1st in line for all of them. According to my library, if they are new books and coming from other broughs/libraries, then they hold them for 4 weeks and give priority to their own library users. After the 4 weeks, if none of their users have reserved, then send out to those who have reserved from outside.

The annoying thing is they’ll probably all turn up together!!

Hope you don’t have to end up waiting much longer!! Happy reading
