Hello again honeybees! This month I kept my goals pretty lowkey. I wanted to read three books and post four times on here. Did I do that? Well…
No, not at all. I really tried this month but the books I was picking up were not it and I was having a really hard time mentally and physically, so a good reading month just wasn’t in the cards. And that’s okay!
Sometimes you need to come home and cry or watch trashy reality shows instead of forcing yourself to read (just me? okay) and I’m happy I spent that time trying to work on my mental health instead of forcing a hobby that might’ve made it worse. The last few years I’ve been trying to put less stress on myself to read so much or read the books that everyone else is reading. I’m going on my own journey. It’ll all work out the way it’s supposed to.
But anyway, back to the books after that super long intro.
Books Read

When No One Was Watching by Alyssa Cole
★★★★.5 (4.5)
I won’t say too much about this one because I posted a full length review for it here, however, this is one of the best thrillers I’ve read! Super engaging and had such a genius plot that was executed so well (the ending wasn’t my fave but still) and I all around enjoyed it. Can’t recommend When No One Was Watching enough if you’re a thriller fan!
I did DNF One Step Too Far by Lisa Gardner and The Glass Sphere by Lauren DeStefano. The Circle by Dave Eggers might get added to this list in the following days.

Not much to say other than I tried! At least the one book I read was a solid read, right? I set my reading goal for the year at 22 books, so I don’t think I’m that much behind in the goal. My average last year was 2-3 books a month (veryyy different from the 5-6 books a month I used to read rip) so if that average can continue/improve for the rest of the year then I’m not really worried.
My February reading plans will be up in the next few days so look forward to that!
What did you read this month? How are your reading goals looking? Have you DNF’d a book yet? I’d love to chat with you about books!
Thank you for reading! Find me on Twitter, Instagram, and Goodreads for more bookish content and chats. See you soon!

Glad you liked the one book you read! And besides, reading one book is more than most people read in a year. I hope you read another great book in February. 😊

This is one of my favourite thrillers too! It gets such mixed reviews but I thought it was fantastic.

I hadn’t seen any reviews for it until I started reading it and a ton of people messaged me saying they loved it, so I wonder why it’s not more popular!

Happy you liked the book you read!! Quality over quantity is my motto this year even tho my Goodreads goal is set to 150 because I also like some chaos 🙉
This thriller has been on my list for awhile and I keep putting it off. Maybe sometime this year I’ll finally get to it!

I’m definitely trying to go for quality over quantity this year. Best of luck on your reading goal 💕
