Hey honeybees! I’m back after a month from literal hell. I’m 19 now, so that’s cool. I’m also doing Blogmas! I’ve hardly posted on my blog this year and I feel really bad about it, so this is my little way of trying to make up for it.
I had a surprisingly good reading month for also doing Nano (I failed, more on that later) and having midterms and a busy social life. Not everything I read was particularly amazing, but it counts, right?
Imaginary Borders by Xiuhtezcatl Martinez
This audiobook was so good! Granted it was hardly more than an hour long but the author did an amazing job with the narration and the subject matter was so enlightening. Taking a BIPOC perspective on climate change was a new idea for me but every point the author made was so important and really made me think. Highly recommend this one.
The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
This was my first Sherlock Holmes book and hopefully my last. I was not at all a fan or impressed. Also didn’t enjoy the BBC episode we watched in class.
On Skein of Death by Allie Pleiter
I’ll be doing a full review of this soon but this was bad. I hate calling books bad because it’s disrespectful to the author and all the time they put into the piece of work, but I said what I said.
Lost In The Never Woods by Aiden Thomas
It pains me to say that I didn’t like this in the slightest. I’m so interested in Peter Pan retellings because I feel like they have so much potential but this fell flat for me. I love the author’s social media presence and fully intend on reading everything else they write but this was not it. Full review to come but to sum it up: I’m disappointed.
That was my reading in November! I’m hoping to get a ton more read in December since I’ll have a slight break. Very happy with how I’ve been able to balance reading and school these last few months, I just wish my reads were better.
What did you read in November? Any new favorites? Any disappointments? I’d love to know!
This is the first in a series of daily posts until Christmas! I’d love it if you followed along with me on this Blogmas journey as I have a ton of fun content lined up this month! If you’re going Blogmas as well, let me know so I can keep tabs on your blog!
Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed this post. Please consider following for more posts like this! You can also find me on Instagram, Twitter, and Goodreads, or buy me a cup of coffee on ko-fi. Thanks again for reading! Bye for now honeybees.
