Hello again honeybees! Long time, no see huh? I didn’t mean to take such a long break from blogging but I’ve gotten pretty sick lately and it’s been hard to balance my chronic illnesses/chronic pain, blogging, and school. I’m not getting any better physically but I am finding a bit of routine in this new normal. I really appreciate your patience with me.
During my hiatus I fell in love with the characters in The Diviners series by Libba Bray, got into nonfiction novels, starting doing more chronic illness and disability advocacy on my bookstagram, and now take a lot of naps. I’ll be catching up with reviews soon but for now let’s get into all the books I’ve read in February.

Books Read

The Magic Fish by Trung Le Nguyen
This was such a cute and unexpected graphic novel! I went into it having no idea what it was about and was so surprised by the beautiful gay and Vietnamese representation through old and new stories. I highly recommend this graphic novel!

Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking by Susan Cain
I spent a lot of time with this book but I really did enjoy it, and I loved learning so much about society and psychology. The writing would get a bit dense at time but for the most part I appreciate Cain’s ability to weave so many facts and stories together and present facts in a conversational and understandable way. I’ve recommended this one non-stop since I started it.

The Wife Upstairs by Rachel Hawkins
Last year I read Jane Eyre for school and mildly enjoyed it, so when I received this Jane Eyre modern retelling from BookSparks and got accepted for the audiobook on Netgalley, I knew what I was expecting. And it delivered. I just wanted something more. The main twists at the end were predictable and it followed the original so closely that I didn’t feel very much suspense or anticipation. I can see the appreciation for this novel and it was a solid read, it just didn’t “wow” me.

Other Updates
Honestly I’ve just been really struggling with my conditions. I’m failing all my classes right now so I’m trying to find a balance between everything.
I’ve been taking a lot of naps while being away (lol) and mostly working on being active on Instagram.
More updates will be coming hopefully soon but in the meantime, I’m going to be catching up on reviews in the coming weeks and I’m really excited because those are my favorite posts to write!

Now tell me, what have you lovelies been doing lately? What did you read this month? Are any of these books on your TBR? I’d love to know!
Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed this post. Please consider following for more posts like this! You can also find me on Instagram, Twitter, and Goodreads, buy me a cup of coffee on ko-fi. Thanks again for reading! Bye for now honeybees.

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve not been feeling great, I hope this changes for you soon 🙂 I’ve also read Quiet: The Power of Introverts and found it really life-changing. I’ve been introverted all my life and always made to feel like that was inferior to being extroverted; this book told me otherwise! x
