Hello again honeybees! It’s 2021 and I need to get on these series that I’ve had on my TBR forever. Honestly, when I love a series it can end up becoming one of my favorite reads of all time and I really want to feel love for a book/characters/a world like that again. So here we are.
*This list excludes series that I am currently in the middle of.

Feverwake by Victoria Lee
I preordered The Fever King in…2019? and I haven’t read it yet. Well this is the year. Not only does the synopsis make this book sound amazing but there’s so much representation in it! We stan a gay fantasy so I’m definitely reading this in 2021.

Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout
I have fallen head over heels with the Lux series and after reading her short story in Meet Cute, I know that it’s just a JLA thing. I love her writing and stories and cannot wait to dive into as many as I can this year!!

The Dark Elements by Jennifer L. Armentrout
I know literally nothing about this series but the covers are so pretty and it’s JLA so I think I’ll like it! A few other JLA stans on bookstagram are always raving about it so hopefully that means I will too.

Covenant by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Again, I absolutely know nothing about this series. It’s on my list purely because of the author. There’s no doubt on my mind that I’ll be reading it very soon though.

An Ember In The Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
I just got the first book this past summer at a local flea market and I’m so pumped to read it! I’ve been told that it’s going to rip my heart out and make me cry and I am so ready.

Infinity Cycle by Adam Silvera
Infinity Son was my most anticipated release of 2020 but considering that this is on my list, I’m sure you can guess how that went. I really want to read the first book before its sequel comes out, as I love Adam Silvera’s writing and am really curious as to how his fantasy debut will play out!

Blood of Eden by Julie Kagawa
If you know me, you know I love a good paranormal book (if you don’t know me: hi my name is Destiny and I’m trash for paranormal fantasy books) so when I heard of this book I knew I had to read it. It’s been on my TBR for a good year, and I just now learned that it’s a series. Really looking forward to this one.

The Iron Fey by Julie Kagawa
Yes, Julie Kagawa is on here once again! I know absolutely nothing about this series but I put it on my TBR a bit ago so I’m guessing something pulled me in. To tell you the truth, I didn’t even connect the dots until recently that Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden #1) and Iron King (The Iron Fey #1) were written by the same author. Yeah… I can be a bit of an airhead sometimes lol. 2021 will be the year of JLA and Julie Kagawa, it seems.

Cursebreakers by Brigid Kemmerer
Am I the last person to read these books? Absolutely. I adore Beauty and the Beast and I’ll read any BatB retelling. The fact that I haven’t read this yet is so frustrating because I’m sure I’ll enjoy it. And the disability rep is SO rare in books that this being a well-loved fantasy novel is so exciting!!!

The Diviners by Libba Bray
I’m also the last person to read The Diviners but it’s been recommended to me no less than 100 times and I will read it this year! (Edit: I’m technically cheating with this one. This post was half written in 2020 and completed in 2021, where I started the year by reading The Diviners. We love achieving goals.)

Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien
*laughs nervously* About that. I read The Hobbit in the summer of 2019 and fell in love with it. While a bit slow and dry at times, the last half completely won me over and it was one of my best reads of the year. I happened across the complete LotR series at a local thrift store not too long after and I’ve had them on my TBR ever since. A lot of people have told me that the movies are better??? which makes me extra hesitant to pick these up.

That’s it for me and the series I want to read this year. I could easily surpass my reading goal if I read all of these, and I’m really hoping I get to all of these wonderfully sounding books.
What series do you want to start or finish this year? Have you read any of these series? Is there a series you think I absolutely have to prioritize over the others? Let me know in the comments!
Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed this post. Please consider following for more posts like this! You can also find me on Instagram, Twitter, and Goodreads, buy me a cup of coffee on ko-fi. Thanks again for reading! Bye for now honeybees.

I want to finish the Ember in the Ashes series, I have only read the first book and I loved it! I also want to start the Diviners this year. I have heard so many good things about it! -Christie

These all sound like great series! I’m also hoping to read The Diviners series this year – I read the first one years ago but am definitely due for a reread before I dive into the others! Hope you love all of these! ♥

I honestly need to read so many of these series too. I am really excited about starting The Fever King because I’ve heard so many good things and it had been on my shelf a while now as well. I would also love to check out The Iron King, A Curse So Dark and Lonely, The Diviners and Lord of the Rings (maybe, slightly intimidated by these ones too). I have read an ember in the ashes though and I really enjoyed this series, I think it gets better as it goes on as well. 💕

The Covenant series by Armentrout is still one of my all time favourites by her. I reread it a couple of years ago and it still holds up.

You have some really great series listed here! I am currently on a JLA catch up myself and trying to catch up on ALL of her series that I have not read yet. Cursebreakers series is really good and of course both series by Julie Kagawa were awesome too!

You are not the last person to read the Cursebreakers series. I’ve had the first book on my shelf for at least a year and haven’t picked it up yet. All these look like fun series to start, I hope you enjoy!
