Hello again honeybees. Wow, we’re here. This year seemed like an eternity from start to finish. I won’t go on and on about everything because it was a rough one for all of us. Sending you all good vibes for the New Year.
Let’s get into the stats!

Pages read: 8,871
Books read: 26
Shortest book: Desperandum by Pia Sophia 121 pages
Longest book: Crave by Tracy Wolff 592 pages
Average book length this year: 341 pages
Most popular: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling
Least popular: Deperandum by Pia Sophia
My average rating: 3.6 stars
Best Book of 2020
Lobizona by Romina Garber
All day everyday baby! I loved this Latinx fantasy so much and I’ve been screaming about it since summer. I don’t have a full review on here because I can’t words, but I’ll link my Instagram post right here with my mini review.
Runner-Up
Becoming by Michelle Obama
This was such a good read. I listened to it on audiobook and listening to the wonderful Mrs. Obama recount her life was so comforting and interesting during really tough times in 2020. This was a truly great read and one that I wish I could read again for the first time.
Most Disappointing Read of 2020
Vampires Never Get Old (anthology) edited by Zoraida Cordova and Natalie C. Parker
I don’t have a review for this one and I really don’t want to shit on a promising, diverse set of vampire stories by primarily authors of color. However, as an avid paranormal lit reader, this was definitely the most disappointing read. I expected so much from these hyped authors and from the authors that I already love, and this did not deliver.
Runner-up
Crave by Tracy Wolff
This is a more recent read for me and wow is it overhyped. From the unsophisticated writing to the rushed plot to the main character that makes Bella Swan look like a genius, it was a bit of a train wreck. An enjoyable train wreck, but this was so hyped up from all the Twilight fans and paranormal lovers on Instagram that I was expecting something much better.
2020 Highlights + Happenings
- I was featured on Buzzfeed (no, I will never shut up about this).
- I graduated high school and started university. My first semester is over and I somehow managed to get a 3.7 gpa??
- Moved into an apartment!
- Got a new chronic illness to add to my list (gotta love spoonie life)
- Grew my platforms! 4.5k+ on Instagram, 350+ on my blog, and 435 on Twitter
- Along with a bunch of amazing friends, I helped start Colored Pages Blog Tours.

A final word on this year
This was a shit year. I can look through this year and pick out some really bad things that happened along with some really amazing things that happened. I was sick and depressed for a majority of the year, but going on my blog, instagram, twitter, made all of that kind of fade away. Most of the great happenings lead back to the book community. Thank you for your support and for allowing me to put my energy into something that makes me so happy and provides a whole lot of sunshine to my rainy days.
More to come on this platform, my other platforms, and plans for diving deeper into the book community in my 2021 TBR and Goals post (I’ll link it here once it’s up).
For the final time in 2020, thank you SO MUCH.
Bye for now honeybees, catch you in the new year.

omg I’m so proud of you and especially your gpa! I know this semester was really rough and I’m proud of how everything ended up

ah… I really want to read Lobizona, it sounds like a great book and I’ve heard a lot of good things. I am so glad you loved it !! I’m sorry Vampires Never Get Old was a disappointment, I find short stories collection can be a hit or a miss with me but I had hopes for this one so that’s shame.
I wish you all the best for 2021 !! 💕
