Hello again honeybees! Happy November!
October month was bad for me. I’m talking crying all the time and sitting in bed questioning life. Then when I made myself go outside, I had a panic attack for the first time in awhile and was sobbing up and down town. But life goes on and I’m trying to get better.
Midterms are fast approaching and once those are over and I regain my balance in school, I really think I’ll be able to juggle book stuff, life stuff, and school. Scorpio season is giving me life.
I didn’t read that much this month because Depression but I did get some spooky reading done! Here’s my wrap up:
The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong
This started out good, then not so great, and ended on a much better note. There were terms thrown around like “schitzo” and the oversimplification of mental illnesses that were not it and made me pretty uncomfortable for a good bit of time, especially since we know that these mental illness labels are temporary until the supernatural stuff starts to pop up. After all that was done away with, I started to really enjoy the plot of the novel. I don’t particularly care for Chloe but the hints of a love triangle and teen angst was enough to keep me entertained. A solid enough read, especially as I was looking for something on the creepier side.
Yeah, one book isn’t glorious but I’m happy I was able to do even that.
- I WAS FEATURED ON BUZZFEED
- Okay I completely forgot about this for a second because I was really going through it at the time, but yes! I was on Buzzfeed’s list of Latinx Bookstagrammers to follow!! Ahh I’ll never get over how freaking cool that is.
- I was also featured on Latinx Heritage Month Book Fest’s Instagram!
- I helped promote their Cozy Reads prompt for their photo challenge and gave some recommendations! I’d never done anything like that and it was a lot of fun.
And that’s all for my very short wrap up! I hope you had a great month and hopefully you have an even better November!
