May TBR: My Boyfriend Picks My TBR…

Hello again honeybees! I had a pretty bad month last month and while this month is chalk full of exams and end of the year stuff for school (this is my last full month of high school ever!!) I’m excited to have a fresh start. So I decided to switch things up a little bit!

This month I only have one promised review to write (you know, after I read the book) but after I wanted to just have fun with my reading. Blogging and reading has seemed like such a chore lately so I wanted to get back to being creative, taking risks, and not being afraid of the unknown. This is why, this month, I let my boyfriend pick my TBR.

To Be Read

Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

[I picked this because] Achilles interests me, and I’m intrigued by it

All of mi novio’s reasonings are pretty basic so bear with me on that. I’m really excited to read this one! To be honest, I forgot I had this on my Kindle and I’m really glad he picked this one from my digital library. So many of my friends and the bloggers that I admire love this one, so I’m excited to see what I think of it.

Gemina by Jay Kristoff and Amy Kaufman

I liked it ’cause of the challenge the main character has to face in space.

My boy is so eloquent. Anyway, I bought this over two years ago and I still haven’t read it. I even reread the first book in anticipation and nope. This seems really quick and fun so I’m hoping to get to this one in May.

I chose it because of the author

Hi hello I’m Anna-Marie McLemore trash but I’m also actual trash because I still haven’t read this. I must have mentioned that AMM is my fave so he picked this one, and I’m happy because I need to read it. Also, I never realized how beautiful the cover is until now and wow!

Touch by Jus Accardo

You [Destiny] said this was by one of your favorite [publishers] so I wanted you to read it in the hopes that you love it.

This is true. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve read from Entangled Teen so hopefully I enjoy this one. I think it’s paranormal romance which makes me even more excited to read it.

We Are Not From Here by Jenny Torres Sanchez

“[It] gives me Holes vibes”*

*I didn’t give him the synopsis, just an extreme oversimplification. I am SUPER pumped to read this one. I feel very blessed to have early access to this one via and I can’t wait to share my thoughts!

Dark Skies by Danielle L. Jensen

For this one, I need to read it before this Tuesday (May 5th) so we’ll see about it. I started it and I have to say, I’m unimpressed.

I’m really excited for all the blog posts I have lined up for the month! I hope to read as much as I can and blog a ton!

I hope you have a great month and stay safe!

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed this post. Please consider following for more posts like this! You can also find me on Instagram, Twitter, and Goodreads. Thanks again for reading! Bye for now honeybees.

Love, Destiny

Those are some amazing titles you have there – I hope you’ll enjoy reading them. One thing I’ve learned about letting my boyfriend choose the books for me is that sometimes I end up loving books from genres I wouldn’t usually dare read myself 🙂
