Hello honeybees and welcome to my late TBR. I’m incredibly tired with school (and I haven’t even started my college apps yet sigh) but I’m here! We’re here! Yay!
I say “spooky for several reasons” because 1) it’s SPOOPY SEASON EVERYONE! 2) Applying to college is taking over my life and it’s scarier than Chucky by a long shot 3) There are so many spooky books on my TBR and no time whatsoever
Alright, with that out of the way, let’s get started!
To Be Read
Imaginary Friend by Stephen Chbosky (finish)
I got an ARC of this book from Libro.fm and can I just say that as someone who doesn’t read horror/thriller, this book is it. I’m almost halfway through this audiobook and I’m loving every creepy second of it!
Tunnel of Bones by Victoria Schwab
I’m so dang excited for this one! They kept the same narrator from the first book, City of Ghosts, (which I loved) so I’m looking forward to getting lost in another Schwab book!
The Harvest by KB Benson
I’ll be on the MTMC bookstagram tour for this book and I’m pumped to read this! It’s about sirens and takes place in my birthplace and that’s all I really need to know about it.
The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood (finish)
I’m reading this one for school and I’m not enjoying it as much as I was hoping to. My annotations and essay are due at the end of the month (literally Halloween day) so I’ll definitely be finishing this one.
Dracula by Bram Stocker
This was on my TBR last year and I DNF’d it due to lack of time. After reading The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein last year, I’m excited to pick it back up and try again!
Goals
- Read 3 books
This one is going to be fairly simple considering I absolutely have to finish The Handmaid’s Tale for school and I’m already almost 50% through Imaginary Friend. I’m really hoping that the longer month will help me reach or surpass my goals.
- Post 5 times on the blog
Posting has been getting difficult lately but I’m determined to stay on a somewhat steady schedule! I have reviews and tags to do so fingers crossed I squeeze them into a busy schedule.
Wow that’s really all of my goals! (If you don’t count finish my CSU and Private college apps haha *cries*) I just want to keep it super lowkey this month and hit all of my goals.
And how about you? What are your goals for the month? Considering that the month is already in progress, how is it going so far?
Bye for now honeybees.
Thanks for reading! For more bookish content, follow me on Goodreads, Instagram, and Twitter. See you in the next post. Love, Destiny ♡
I was disappointed by the Handmaid’s tale too when I read it. Just can’t get on board with Atwood’s writing style. Good luck with the rest of the month Destiny!!! :)))))

I actually didn’t finish The Handmaid’s Tale, lucky for me I don’t have any deadlines for it 😂

Very fortunate indeed. If I didn’t have to read it for class I would have DNF’d it a looong time ago

I’ve had The Handmaid’s Tale sitting in my shelf for a few years now lol
Good luck with your CSU and common app! My sister is also doing them this month and I know how stressful it can be:)

Thank you! It’s a lot to deal with but I’m sure I’ll manage. Good luck to your sister!

We were banned from using The Handmaid’s Tale as our English essay, back in the day, as the teachers were so fed up of reading all the same comments about it. Ho-hum. Worth it – as is the TV series if you need something to bring the words to life a little more. Really looking forward to City of Ghosts and Tunnel of Bones, both still on my TBR 🙂

I’ve heard the TV show is really good! I’m not enjoying the book too much but I understand why it’s so popular. Thanks for reading!

The amount of times I’ve had Dracula on my TBR…I hope you can get through it and then you can tell me if it was worth it. Hope you enjoy your spooky reads.
