September 2019 Wrap Up | Life Happens

Hey there honeybees! *dusts off computer* *swats at cobwebs on my blog* So I unintentionally stopped blogging for most of the month and I’m sincerely disappointed by my lack of activity. I thought about my blog almost daily, but as school became more demanding and my health took a turn for the worst, I devoted every second (or so it seemed) to my studies.

However, this happened a few weeks ago…

Thank you so much for 200 followers! I know it seems like such a small number but I work hard on my blog (when I can) and to know that 200+ people liked it enough to subscribe means so much!

Okay, okay, let’s get to the books.

Books Read

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (Harry Potter #1) by J.K. Rowling

★★★★★

My best friend Bianca and I decided to start our reread on Back To Hogwarts Day, rather than Thanksgiving week like usual. I definitely needed some HP in my life to diffuse the tension and stress, and it was just as good as I remember.

The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros (audiobook)

★★★★½

I seriously loved this book and almost everything it discussed. I can most definitely see why it is regarded as a classic and essential Latinx lit reading. I’ll have my full review up (hopefully) soon.

Other Bookish Things

  • Latinxathon happened! I was super excited for this readathon and finished a book for it on the first day…then completely failed the readathon. But now that it’s Hispanic Heritage Month, I’ve interacted with Latinx bloggers and gotten the chance to spread the word about my favorite Latinx books and bookbloggers!
  • More collaborations! I will never not get excited to work on any type of project with other bloggers, publishers, companies, etc. This month I cohosted a SFS session with lovely bloggers and was gifted some awesome poetry books from Thought Catalog. Surprisingly I was also approved for Libro.fm’s ALC program and that notice just completely made my day! Blogging is better when I get to work with others.
  • I got chosen as a rep for untiltheveryendco candles! I honestly didn’t think I would get chosen among such amazing bookstagrams but I did! My code HONEY15 can now get you a discount on their beautiful candles, and I look forward to repping for this great company!

And that was my month! Pretty brief as most of it was gobbled up by school. Two books and two hundred followers ahh!

How was your month? Did you find any new favorites or was your reading month as dismal as mine? Tell me everything in the comments!

Thanks for reading! For more bookish content, follow me on Goodreads, Instagram, and Twitter. See you in the next post. Love, Destiny
