Hello again honeybees! Today I’m taking part in a bookish meme and honestly I’m way overdue for this. Waiting on Wednesday posts are what I most associate with bloggers (don’t ask) and I am so excited to be jumping on board!
This weekly meme originated at Breaking the Spine, but has since been linked up with Can’t Wait Wednesday from Wishful Endings.
This meme is a chance to fangirl and gush about upcoming releases that we’re excited about.
Side note: this is being published on the first day of my senior year and I promise I really rather be reading right now. The struggle of a bookworm, am I right?
Alright, on with the book!
Of Curses and Kisses by Sandhya Menon
Release Date: February 18, 2020 by Simon Pulse
Synopsis from Goodreads:
Will the princess save the beast?
For Princess Jaya Rao, nothing is more important than family. When the loathsome Emerson clan steps up their centuries-old feud to target Jaya’s little sister, nothing will keep Jaya from exacting her revenge. Then Jaya finds out she’ll be attending the same elite boarding school as Grey Emerson, and it feels like the opportunity of a lifetime. She knows what she must do: Make Grey fall in love with her and break his heart. But much to Jaya’s annoyance, Grey’s brooding demeanor and lupine blue eyes have drawn her in. There’s simply no way she and her sworn enemy could find their fairy-tale ending…right?
His Lordship Grey Emerson is a misanthrope. Thanks to an ancient curse by a Rao matriarch, Grey knows he’s doomed once he turns eighteen. Sequestered away in the mountains at St. Rosetta’s International Academy, he’s lived an isolated existence—until Jaya Rao bursts into his life, but he can’t shake the feeling that she’s hiding something. Something that might just have to do with the rose-shaped ruby pendant around her neck…
As the stars conspire to keep them apart, Jaya and Grey grapple with questions of love, loyalty, and whether it’s possible to write your own happy ending.
Why I’m Excited
Contemporary retelling of Beauty and the Beast. That’s it. That’s all you had to say. Besides that, I’ve heard such good things about Sandhya Menon’s writing and my sister (the non reader) loved When Dimple Met Rishi.
I don’t know of too many boarding school books that I’ve read but I am here for the troupe and ready for this romance. She has to make him fall in love with her so she can break his heart. I’m in for the angst and all the feelings! Yes! So excited!
What else can I say? I’ll never get tired of Beauty and the Beast retellings and I’m so excited to add it to my collection.
New drinking game: take a shot every time I say “excited” yikes maybe school will help me expand my vocabulary.
Will you be eagerly awaiting this one as well? Have you read anything by Sandhya Menon? Would you recommend any of her books if you have read them?
Thanks for reading! For more bookish content, follow me on Goodreads, Instagram, and Twitter. See you in the next post. Love, Destiny ♡
This one looks awesome! I have yet to find a beauty and the beast retelling that I love so maybe I will check this one out.

I’m really excited about this one as well. It feels really different than her other books which has me really curious. I also really loved When Dimple Met Rishi and hope your sister is pressuring you to read it. I am also so here for the angst in this one.
