May TBR + Goals | Can You Tell It’s Exam Time?

Hello again honeybees! Consistently blogging? Who is she? I’m back with my pretty modest TBR. I have AP tests and some SAT studying to do so we’ll see if I ditch my grades for books or be a responsible student for once. Maybe I’ll read these books. Oh! The puns!

Anywayyy, here are the books I want to read and all my goals.

Among Us by Kristina Rienzi

I’ll be on a bookstagram tour for this book and I’m super excited to read it! This cover is gorgeous and I’ve enjoyed every book about aliens that I have read so far.

Fifty Days by Brittney Kristina

I received a free copy from the author in exchange for an honest review and giving it some press as it gets republished. The premise seems like just my type of story and I’m excited to start it soon!

The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien (finish)

I’m about halfway done with this book and I love having it as a lowkey read during this stressful time. I love it so far and I’m hopeful that I can finish by the end of the month.

Illuminae by Amy Kaufman and Jay Kristoff (finish)

As of May 6th, I’m 49% through the audiobook and it’s going by very quickly! I read this two years ago and have since forgotten a lot of the plot and characters. It’s nice to come back to outer space with my favorite psychopath AI—AIDAN.

Dark Shores by Danielle L Jensen (finish)

I received an ARC of this beautiful book during a book tour on Instagram and I loved it so much! Unfortunately, I’ve been in a slump and didn’t want to dislike it because of my aversion to reading. Now I’m picking it up again and uggghh I love Marcus so much! This book comes out on March 7th and I highly recommend picking it up if you like pirates, war stories, and soft but still badass male characters.

Bookish Goals

I don’t want to hold myself to strict, unattainable goals this month since it’s so busy and I’m so tired. Instead, here are some doable goals that I actually look forward to reaching this month.

Read (2) Books

I’ve never set a goal so low but with exams coming one after the other and my health going down, it must be done. If I finish two books, I’ll be just as happy as if I had finished ten.

Post four times on my blog

This will be fairly easy since I’ve posted twice already (my April Wrap Up and now my May TBR.) I really want to get at least one review up and work on those reviewing skills.

Reach 14k on my WIP

I reached 13k words on the first of the month and I know it’s very slow progress but things are happening. I’m soon approaching the middle of the book and I cannot be more excited! Don’t get me wrong, this book needs tons of work but it’s so nice to see it coming along!

What are your goals for May? Is there anything you’re looking forward to? Tell me everything in the comments!

Bye for now honeybees.

That Dark Shores cover is so pretty. I’ve only read one book by this author, but I hope you end up enjoying this newest one by her. I know exactly how you feel about feeling slumpy and not wanting it to affect how you read a book. That can sometimes be hard when you’re supposed to be reading a book by a certain time and you are just not feeling it. Wishing you lots of luck on your upcoming exams!
